While in college pursuing my mathematics degree, I worked as a personal trainer and found with my clients that there was also a need for supplements and health supplies at a reasonable cost. I pursued that opportunity, negotiating with suppliers to expand my services to new and existing clients.

Two years ago, I came across an opportunity, while talking with fellow dog-owners at my local dog park, to help people with computer hardware and use of technology. This developed into Kernels and Bits, LLC, where I have taught myself simple computer repair, high-end gaming computer assembly, and built several turnkey cryptocurrency mining computers. This was the catalyst for where I am today.

FREELANCE WEB & SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Right now, software development is where I want to be and what I want to be doing. Learning how to initially fix, swap components and test hardware on computers was fun but it was the challenge of doing something new other than sales for so many years that sparked my drive to learn to code and develop web applications. Now that I have completed coursework via Actualize to gain a grasp of the basics I code every day to continue to grow and evolve with the changing technology.

Educational Background

My college background is in Mathematics. While my degree doesn't directly translate to computer science I have found that it gives me a great foundation for problem solving within software development. Beyond my degree, I am a life long student and with my love of coding, I am expanding upon my development skills daily.

On a more personal note

About Me

Outside of work and development I spend a lot of time with my three amazing dogs. When the weather permits I love to take them hiking but more frequently we spend a lot of time at my local dog park.

When not with the puppies, I am a dabbeler of hobbies. I love cooking and am a bit of a foodie. A few years ago I was an avid jiu-jitsu grappler in college, but a few major injuries stifled the urge to compete like I used to.

And more recently I spend a large amount of my free time gaming. I enjoy variety so I play everything from D&D and board games, to games on my PC but I'll leave it at that because there are way too many to list. I love strategy and creative expression and doing that with friends is even better.
